POSITION SUMMARYBradford & Bigelow expects that the Sales and Business Development Manager will act at all times to assure the highest level of personal performance possible, will work enthusiastically to meet or exceed all performance goals, and will help Bradford & Bigelow achieve its mission of being a best-in-class provider in the book manufacturing industry.
The Sales and Business Development Manager will report directly to the VP of Sales & Business Development.
The successful candidate will be creative, innovative, self-motivated, driven, and able to work independently, with guidance, and as part of a team.
Candidate must have been in printing, graphic design, or marketing with some amount of exposure to print production for at least 2-3 years.
An upbeat attitude, and an eagerness to learn are required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
o Generate leads and follow up on prospects assigned by Vice President of Sales and Marketing Team.
Leverage business contacts and industry knowledge to develop customers.
o Provide input for marketing/graphic design campaigns, including print, electronic, company website and presentations.
o Provide a weekly business development report to VP of Sales on sales/ business development/marketing activity.
o Must become proficient in company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, currently HubSpot.
Manage and organize prospects from initial outreach and progression to customer status.
Maintain communication and activities of current customers.
Initiate & execute email blasts for customers and/or specific markets with follow through via phone calls, video conferencing or in-person meetings.
o Learn & understand company's internal MIS as required for quoting, scheduling, production, and invoicing.
o Provide pricing feedback and analysis to VP of Sales on an ongoing basis.
o Strategize with VP of Sales and management on the closure of significant RFP's and contracts.
o Develop strong partnerships with external customers, internal company team members and in some cases vendor partners.
o Provide management with customer, competitor, and market intelligence as appropriate.
o Provide a smooth & seamless prospect to customer transition from sales/business development to account management at purchase order & file upload.
o Develop new customers and maintain/maximize growth of existing customers.
o Participate in and/or lead internal meetings, virtual or in-person, for prospective or current customer needs or circumstances.
o Coordinate customer plant visits with management and internal team members.
o Attend all sales meetings, virtual or in-person.
o Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES o At least 2-3 year experience in the printing industry and knowledge of print production o Knowledge of materials (paper, ink, packaging) used for book manufacturing a plus.
o Experience or familiarity with fulfillment/warehousing/distribution a plus.
o Customer/client facing experience preferred but not required (i.
e.
sales, customer service) o Possess superior presentation (in-person & virtual), oral and written communication skills o Strong problem solving skills o Persistent demeanor encouraged and an ability to handle rejection o Eagerness to expand knowledge base and continuously improve o Ability to handle and adapt to a fast paced, changing environment o Must be highly organized, motivated and detail oriented o Proficient personal computer and data entry skills, experience with MS Office Suite o Proficiency in professional and social media platforms o Some travel required to company, customer or trade show locations.
o Fluency in English.
o Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
